Bathroom Miracle
Bathroom miracle:
Here in Stephenville there's this place called Tarleton University and it is probably the scariset place I've been on my mission. Yes, I have tracted into drug deals and secret combinations and have even seem a man get murdered but by and large the scariest things out there are college students. Couldn't tell you why they are just really scary. We went for 30 minutes on my first day here and afterward I never wanted to set foot on a college campus again.
The very next day though Elder Lancaster said we were going back. I would probably have done anything else than go back there so I prayed for the courage to be able to go back.
We showed up on campus and I wanted to jump in the lake but right before we rushed into the main walkway Elder Lancaster had to see a man about a horse so we went to the one building on campus that he had been inside and that was the building where they hold institute on Wednesday night's. I had a weird feeling thag this potty break was supposed to happen though so instead of waiting outside I went in too to just wash my hands or something. Inside was this cowboy looking student who seemed a little startled to see a 30 year old (Elder Lancaster) and a 12 year old (me) walk into the bathroom wearing white shirts with name tags. He asked who we worked for and we told him that we were missionaries and he told us his best friend in high school was a member of the church.
He kept asking questions and at first it was a little awkward because the bathroom isn't the most spiritually conducive place at first glance but as time went on I realized it was a blessing. Here we were in the most awkward room of the building where instead of having an extremely uncomfortable situation we had a very pleasant and uplifting conversation about God. Everyone is vulnerable in the bathroom so everyone is equal It taught me that 1) you can teach someone anywhere and 2) college students aren't as tough or cruel as they like to think.
It was neat.
Love y'all,
Elder Murdoch
